Silouettes
i created simple black silhouettes on Photoshop and then i brought the light in by adding grey to add the effect of lighting and depth, these were quick experiments to try get a basic shape and look for a further developed idea if i decide to use them.
initial sketches
i started jotting down ideas in my sketchbook of different designs of robots, some influenced by existing things and some i created a similar design multiple times to experiment with different looks. i chose 2 designs to further develop.
having the initial sketches helped me with my later Photoshop work as i drew on top of my initial sketches because i find it easier to get the basic shape with pencil and paper first.

Artist interpretation
for my artist interpretation i tried to best mimic the style of the artists work i had chosen because it was a similar design to what i wanted to achieve.

moodboard
with my mood board i gathered pictures of robots from different games and movies trying to have a varied collection in styles and ascetics, this will help me experiment and explore when creating my own designs.
Mind Map
To start the design process i put together a mind map of different attributes a robot may have, some things like physical appearance to function and movement, having this mind map helped me when coming up with ideas for robots because i may not know what the robot will look like but when i get to the process of creating artwork for my design i know the basics it will need for the function it has and how it is supposed to work.
